Drapeinn builds and runs online stores for clothing businesses — boutiques, labels, ateliers and Instagram-first sellers across India. You send us a catalogue; we launch a store that carries your name, your colours and your own address, and we keep it running. We do not take a share of what you sell.

Who runs Drapeinn

Drapeinn is operated by Akshanth V, from Andhra Pradesh, India. It is a small operation, which is deliberate and worth saying plainly: every store is set up by hand rather than through a self-service signup, so the number of brands we can onboard at once is limited and the person who builds your store is the person who answers your messages.

The name

Drapeinn is one word — no space, two n’s. It comes from drape, the way cloth falls and is worn, and the idea of an inn: somewhere your brand has a room of its own rather than a shelf in someone else’s shop. People write it “Drape Inn” often enough that it is worth spelling out once. The website is drapeinn.com.

Why Drapeinn exists

A boutique in India has three bad options and no good one. A marketplace brings customers and takes 15–30% of every sale, keeps the customer relationship, and puts your work in a grid sorted by price. Selling through Instagram DMs works until the admin buries you — screenshots, UPI references and addresses typed into a chat window. Building a store properly means finding a developer, a designer and a payment integration, and then maintaining all three.

When Drapeinn is the wrong choice

Worth being straight about, because a store that sits empty helps nobody:

• If you have no audience at all yet. Your own store brings no traffic by itself. If nobody follows you, nobody has your number and nobody has bought from you, start on a marketplace or build an audience first — then come back.
• If you compete mainly on price. For commodity products at low margins, a marketplace’s reach is usually worth its commission.
• If you want to self-serve at 2am. Every Drapeinn store is set up by a person. That is better for most boutiques and slower than a signup form.

If you want it, we launch it — typically in days rather than months. After that we keep it running, and you get a person to message when something needs changing.
